Winter vs. Summer
Celebrate winter while looking forward to summer! This display was create in the bookcases on opposite sides of the library.
Winter Side: Pick several fiction and non-fiction winter books to display. Using fishing line, hang snowflakes at various lengths. Include stuffed animals that make their home in the snow. Finally, add some artificial snow.
Summer Side: Pick several fiction and non-fiction summer books to display. Find some paper cutouts of flip flops or other summer items. (You might even want to include the actual shoes.) Add some shovels, buckets and a lei or two. (To get more coverage, cut one lei in half and lay across a shelf.) Finally, add some individual palm tree leaves.

Reading is Fun
Even though this is a door decoration, it could easily be converted into a bulletin board. Use a variety of fall decorations to create the look you want. You may also want to use the title “Fall Into Reading.” If you are using this in a display case, don’t forget to include your favorite fiction and non-fiction books.

Buster Baxter is waving a tissue to Ivy [Ivy & Bean- Barrows] while Owly and his worm buddy are skipping to the bus, and Skippy John Jones is being kissed goodbye by his mother. Other characters wait around "being silly".
I copied and enlarged the pictures in B&W then water colored and laminated them. The bus was handmade as were the grass, road and mural of the house. There's a sign above the bus that reads- "new year, new books come check us out come take a look!"

Apple Reading Tree
Make a tree in the library. Every time a child finishes a book they hang a paper apple with the title of the book read.

Fall Into Books
I've used the theme of "Fall into Books". Make a tree trunk and cut out several maple leaves in different fall colors and put some titles of books on them. Make it so the leaves that are falling off the tree or are already on the ground those leaves with the names of the books on them.
